President Donald Trump on Sunday congratulated Rory McIlroy following his victory at the 90th Masters Tournament at Augusta National, where the Northern Irish golfer secured his second straight green jacket.

McIlroy finished at 12-under par, edging out Scottie Scheffler by a single stroke in a tightly contested final round that avoided a playoff.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump praised McIlroy’s performance under pressure and his growing legacy in the sport:

“Congratulations to Rory McIlroy on another Great Championship, The Masters! He performed tremendously under intense pressure… With each year, Rory is becoming more and more a LEGEND!”

Trump also noted he looks forward to watching McIlroy compete again soon at Doral, highlighting what he called the “extraordinary” level of talent across professional golf.

With the win, McIlroy joins Tiger Woods, Jack Nicklaus, and Nick Faldo as one of the few players to win back-to-back Masters titles. He will also take home a record $4.5 million prize.

Trump, a longtime golf enthusiast who owns multiple courses worldwide, has previously played with McIlroy. The two have also discussed the evolving landscape of professional golf, including tensions between the PGA Tour and the Saudi-backed LIV Golf league.
