President Donald Trump said Tuesday that he has moved Charlie Kirk’s Presidential Medal of Freedom presentation outdoors to the White House Rose Garden to accommodate a larger crowd.

“The crowd for Charlie K’s Presidential Medal of Freedom presentation is so big and enthusiastic that I moved it out to the new Rose Garden, where everyone can see the Presidential Wall of Fame and the Palm Court renovation,” Trump posted on his Truth Social page Tuesday.

The announcement came just hours before the 4 p.m. ceremony was to begin.

The renovated outdoor space includes expanded seating, a view of the new Presidential Wall of Fame, and the adjacent Palm Court area that was recently reopened following months of restoration work.

On Tuesday, Trump awarded the nation’s highest civilian honor posthumously to Kirk, the Turning Point USA founder who was fatally shot last month while speaking at Utah Valley University.

The presentation coincides with what would have been Kirk’s 32nd birthday.
