GOP-Aligned Super PAC Targets Midterm Turnout With New Registration Push

The Sentinel Action Fund, a conservative super PAC focused on Senate races, is launching a national voter registration initiative as part of a $650,000 advertising push aimed at energizing Republican voters ahead of the upcoming midterm elections.

The announcement is timed to follow President Donald Trump’s State of the Union address on Tuesday night. At the center of the effort is a new one-stop website designed to help voters check whether their registration status is current in their respective states.

Jessica Anderson, president of Sentinel Action Fund, said the project is intended to remove barriers to voter participation while giving conservatives confidence about where their information is going.

“Sentinel Action Fund is committed to making this easier for Americans by launching a new, easy-to-use national voter registration page where voters can make sure they are ready to cast their ballots this November — and where they can trust their voter information isn’t going into the hands of extremist Democrat organizations,” Anderson said in a statement.

The accompanying advertisement features Sen. Bill Hagerty (R-Tenn.) who touts what Republicans describe as major accomplishments during Trump’s second term.

The group’s push comes as Republicans prepare to defend narrow congressional majorities. The GOP holds a razor-thin edge in the House of Representatives and faces the historical headwinds that often confront the party in power during midterm elections. Historically, the party that wins the White House tends to lose ground in Congress two years later.

Sentinel Action Fund argues that strengthening voter registration efforts could help blunt that trend and preserve Republican control of both chambers.

“To help support President Trump, voters must mobilize this year and ensure the President continues to have strong partners in the Senate and House,” Anderson said. “This voter registration tool is designed to help them do just that.”

Anderson also pointed to what she called the administration’s early policy successes, including the Working Families Tax Cuts and other economic initiatives aimed at reversing what Republicans characterize as Biden-era failures.

With control of Congress at stake, the group is betting that voter preparedness — and turnout — will be critical to sustaining the GOP’s governing trifecta.
