Donald Trump reportedly plans to attend the funeral for Corey Comperatore, the man killed in the assassination attempt against the former president last weekend.
Trump plans to attend the private service for Comperatore, the New York Post reported Wednesday afternoon. The Post cited an unnamed person close to Trump for the information.
Campaign officials for Trump, who is scheduled to accept the nomination for president at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee on Thursday, did not immediately confirm the appearance.
Comperatore, 50, of Sarver, a former volunteer fire company chief, died while attempting to shield his family when a gunman opened fire at a Trump rally in Butler County on Saturday. Trump suffered a wound to his ear; two other men were seriously injured.
The shooter, Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, of Bethel Park, was shot and killed by a U.S. Secret Service agent.
