A sudden switch…
On Monday, President Donald Trump said that his administration would be sending defensive weapons to Ukraine, an apparent turnaround after the Pentagon said last week it was pausing such deliveries.
His comments came as Russian attacks on Ukraine killed at least 11 civilians and injured more than 80 others, including seven children, officials said Monday.
“We have to,” Trump said when questioned at the start of a dinner he was hosting at the White House for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. “They have to be able to defend themselves. They’re getting hit very hard now. We’re going to send some more weapons — defensive weapons primarily.”
Russia continues to advance and now currently controls just under a fifth of Ukrainian territory, including Crimea, all of Luhansk, the lion’s share of three other regions and slivers of three additional regions.
Trump’s repeated efforts to broker a ceasefire have not been successful, and the president continued to vent his frustration with Russian President Vladimir Putin, who continues to escalate military actions.
“I’m not happy with President Putin at all,” Trump said.
The Defense Department later said it would send additional defensive weapons to Ukraine at Trump’s direction, to ensure the Ukrainians can defend themselves while efforts continue to secure a lasting peace.
Putin has one thing in mind. The complete take over of Ukrain in his quest to reestabilish the old USSR which he grew up under. He considers that that loss as humiliating to true RUSSIA. He will continue to push and push to gain as much ground as possible before winter and then sue for peace with new national boundries. NO UN or outside influnce by any European Nation or organization, not even Trump will stop his ego from having his miltary force take as much as possible. He doesn’t care about the Russian or Ukraininan people or any others as well. He does not care how many soldiers die in his quest. He has ever hired NK mercernaries and maybe even some Chinese as well. The might get their bodies back or maybe not. Mean while stocks of military equimpment has been destroyed on all sides so buys or borrows military hardware from China and North Korea. In addition he uses the Nuke threat to stop any aggression into justified Russian soil. Putin is as bad as the French Napolien in almost every regard. Either Putin has to taken out of office by his people or all out WWIII is about to happen. Just my opinion.
As a note to David M Barron, Poland is well aware of the threat of Putin wanting to take it all back. I am sure they are hoping Trump continues to oppose Putin and his land grab! But as noted that nuclear threat has already been made by Putin. The EU needs a special dome of defense like Trump is restoring for the US. Though I wonder if there is a special dome protecting Russia? Or maybe just where Putin lives?
Even on the other side of planet the bullies of the world threaten everyone. And you have no choice but to oppose them and their agression!
Putin, the kind of guy if you give an inch he will take the mile. So can you trust him? Absolutely not as he has just proven! He is Stalin’s replacement and Russia is still a communist country and bullies run the nation!
That little darling who wants to be the new mayor of NYC is reading the same play book. In Russia everything is provided by the state and determined by the party! NYC will be broke and expecting the rest of the country to supply their community food stores and everything else. In Russia you only get what is available! We should let NYC learn the lesson the hard way about socialism/communism!
I guess the schools have not been teaching very well. A good comparison of the types of governments would have warned today’s adults of those downfalls that living in the USA under capitalism these morons who voted for the little lying socialist have never ever expenienced.
